CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM NEW BRIGHTON EVENTS COMMITTEE.

The New Brighton Events Committee had its Christmas Party at the Seaside Cafe on the prom last Thursday. They had mince pies and drinks. Christmas crafts making and story telling by Cathy Roberts 'Tugboat Cathy'. Santa's grotto was inside but a giant Father Christmas joined in the carols outside.

 

HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN AND HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH VISIT NEW BRIGHTON

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh unveil a commemorative plaque in the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton on Thursday 1st December 2011.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained by The Choral Pavilion choir and a short performance by students of St. Mary's Catholic College. Up to 90 people joined The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh for lunch.

 
REMEMBER OUR FALLEN HERO'S WAR MEMORIAL NEW BRIGHTON

A large number of people paid their respects in front of the War Memorial on the New Brighton promenade on Sunday. 

Angela Eagle Member of Parliament for Wallasey led the wreath laying ceremony.

 
MORRISONS OPENING DAY

Morrisons new supermarket opened its doors for the first time on 10th October with a great serge of customers.

It was like the first day of the January sales.

 
WRITE AROUND WALLASEY

On Sunday 9th October the Rotary Club Wallasey presented 'Write Around Wallasey'

Not truly a New Brighton only event but this is where it started. There where stations at Derby Pool, Rotary Tent (on Kings Parade), Fort Perch Rock, Floral Pavilion, Vale Park and Egremont and Seacombe Ferries. This is a new event and included Art Workshops, Classic Cars, Dragon Drummers, Kite Flying, Poetry and many more.

 
LIVERPOOL MARATHON

On Sunday 9th October, about one hour late, 10.30, the Liverpool Marathon started in Birkenhead Park. The runners travelled along Seabank Road down to the complex, round the back of the new Morrisons and on the prom to Seacombe. From there through the Mersey tunnel to Liverpool.
